I have to make an ad for myself for my publication class. I’m running low on time so I went super simple with it. The photos are of Nick Vance when Deep Sleep played an abandoned subway station in Rochester.
Homework rules sometimes. This is the beginning of a Wallride ad for my publication class. The shadows still need some work, and I need to add some reflective light, then I’ll do the background (its supposed to be at a prom) and the rest of the layout.

until the light takes us
Went around getting landscape shots around Westminster the other day for a web project. I’m designing a web site for a local insurance company, my pitch to them was that they should push an image of rural Carroll County, since there office is on a back road surrounded by farm land and a lot of their customers are older locals, who probably long for an era before the area was as commercialized as it is now. With that all in mind I’m trying to give the photos a sort of technicolor look. This was a pond right on the side of the road as you head down Rt. 27. The photo makes it look a lot bigger than it actually is.
From an old Life Magazine I have laying around. I have tons of old magazines that I keep on hand as references/inspiration for design work. This one has some some pretty intense military photos.
Draft of the contents page I’m making for my publication class. I’m really behind on this, but I think its far enough along that I’ll have it ready to go for when its due Thursday.
Anonymous asked: love the back cover! definitely go with it.
thanks! Who’s this? Anons drive me nuts
Back cover draft, posted here so I can stare at it while I’m at the bar and figure out if I like it or not.
Just about done with the cover of the Jons LP, minus some minor tweaking. This was a complete pain in the ass and went through I don’t know how many failed versions but I think I’m finally happy with this concept and everyone else is on board.
Not quite ready for print, still messing with colors. And I forgot the date.
Final version of the cover spread for the class, though it’ll need a few tweaks before it gets a real life release. The real version won’t have the bar code, probably won’t have a section about releasing a record, and the back cover photo will get fixed from how overly blurred it is at the moment. (shoulda done a test print before it was due)

Editor’s page for the magazine I’m making in my publication design class. Kind of stuck at the moment. It needs work but I’m not sure what.
